We're told that our Grade II-listed, medieval cottage once served as a way station for monks. We've given it a loving restoration, and now it lives its life as a cosy hideaway situated right at the gateway to the Cotswolds, in the charming village of Lechlade-on-Thames. The communal well out back is no more, but you'll still find myriad original features, like exposed vaulted beams in the attic and stones around the fireplace that appear to have been recycled from a nearby gothic church. Modern kitchen, bathrooms, and amenities make Barbers Cottage a supremely comfortable and stylish place to spend a cosy winter weekend or a long, lazy summer week.
